Halo 3 skulls are Easter eggs, sometimes called cheats, in the popular game Halo 3 designed to add interest or challenge to the game. They have become so popular that there are entire sections of websites dedicated to detailing the Halo 3 skulls.
Hello 3 skulls locations can be obtained by completing levels from the beginning on normal or higher difficulty level, although resume game can be used from the point a game was saved. Skulls are not saved with the game, but rather with the player. Players turn on Halo 3 skulls in the campaign lobby. Once activated the skull effect is maintained throughout the game.
Gold Halo 3 skulls and silver Halo 3 skulls each do different things. Gold skulls are achievements which add multipliers to campaign meta game scores, they affect difficulty of gameplay, making it more of a challenge for people who have more skills. Silver skulls change the way the game looks, and change the underlying physics of the game.
Here are details of the Halo 3 skulls:
Iron Skull – it's three times multiplier, if a teammate is dead it will reload a checkpoint if everyone is dead it will restart the level.
Blackeye Skull – multiply x 3 – regenerates targets and turns off your regeneration.
Tough luck – Multiply x 5, enemies can dodge as well as ninjas.
The Catch Skull – Multiply x 1.5 makes NPCs throw more grenades.
Fog – 1.5 times modifier that removes your motion tracker.
The Famine Skull – 2x sets dropped weapons to ½ ammo and charge.
The Thunderstorm Skull –1.5x, maximum rank for all NPCs.
The Tilt Skull – 2x, enemies set to max resistance.
Mythic – 2x, NPC health doubled
