SpaceShipTwo a Space Gadget
Virgin Galactic is unveiling SpaceShipTwo (SS2)(a Space Gadget) on Monday night, but they did release a few photos early. SpaceShipTwo is scheduled to be the world's first commercial manned spaceship, with room for up to 6 passengers to move and float! around during SS2's suborbital flights. The SS2 team has created a work of art but a world first, Virgin Galactic founder Sir Richard Branson said. The designer of SpaceShipOne Burt Rutan who won the Ansari X PRIZE in 2004 for the world’s first private manned space flights said, "All of us at Scaled Composites are tremendously excited by the capabilities of both the mother ship and SS2."
The scheduled unveiling tonight (Monday night) at the Mojave Spaceport will be followed up with party for the 300 or more paying passengers that have signed up for flights on SpaceShipTwo, along with some VIPs from the space industry.
