The 789 Chevy from N2A is a very off the wall Gadget and I love it although I can’t afford one.

The 789 Chevy is a combo of the classic cars from 1957, 1958 & 1959 N2A Rolled them all Into One!

The 789 Chevy was built by N2A motors which stands for No Two Alike.
The N2A company has plans for a production run
Of about 100 vehicles. The 769 sits on a Corvette C6 chassis,
Front styled after the 57 Chevy, side like a 58 Chevy, and the rear like a 59 Chevy.
Thus the designation “789.”

Droid Does: I think we all knew Verizon would sooner or later be throwing caution to the wind in an effort to convince uncommitted smartphone purchasers in the direction towards Big Red, and it looking like in November Motorola Droid will be VZW’s anti-iPhone. The commercial, which started tonight and is a 30 second clip that begins by making fun of Apple’s cute music and iconic font usually seen in iPhone plugs. It list a number of things that the iPhone can’t do, and then abruptly goes into tease mode by flashing glimpses of a robot controlled future and a tag line that simply states: “Droid Does.” No shots of the actual Motorola Droid are shown, but a dedicated teaser has already been erected. We’re told that the phone will feature Android 2.0 and a 5 megapixel camera. At this point, I’d say the gloves are most definitely off.

I really liked the Droid Does commercial, and I hope that the Verizon Droid commercial might push Apple into improving their iPhone and make it a bit more open!

But then again I am a little of disappointed about this Droid commercial because I take it to mean that the iPhone will not be coming to Verizon any time soon. Anyone else looking forward to the Verizon Droid Release? It may just have what it takes to be an iPhone killer.

The Droid Release date should be October 30 if reports are correct.

Here is the Droid Does Video

The Chevrolet Nova was also known as the Chevy II, and was introduced as a compact car. The compact car of the 60’s is much larger than the compact car of today. The first generation of the Nova spanned from 1962-1967 with a V8 not available until 1964 because of the small body; though small block V8s were often installed aftermarket.

In 1966 the Chevy II underwent restyling and the Super Sport (SS) did not have the Nova name applied to it. Like all American vehicles, 1967 brought dramatic safety improvements to the Chevy II.

The second generation of the Chevy Nova ran from 1968 to 1974 with the ’68 being the last year for the Chevy II name. The primary competition for the Nova was the AMC Javelin, Thunderbird and other smaller cars of the time. In 1968 the SS became a performance trim package.

There were few styling changes for the Nova through the early 70’s with a hatchback available in 1973. The light body weight of the vehicle quickly made it a favorite for drag racing enthusiasts. The Rally Nova was introduced in 1971 and lasted 2 years until a mild comeback in 1977. This package included black or white stripes that ran the length of the car, Rally badges and Rally tires.

During the second generation several engine options were available which made the Nova a flexible option. Up until 1970 a 4-cylinder was available. Inline 6 cylinder engines were offered in 3.18, 3.8 and 4.1 liter. V8s could be had with 5.03, 5.36, 5.7 and 6.49 liter engines.

The third generation Nova lasted 1975-1979 and was completely restyled becoming more “blah”. The Nova SS was brought to an end in 1976. A high performance police option was introduced in 1975 and primarily used by Los Angeles County Sheriffs. The final Nova production date was December 22, 1979. Its successor was the Chevy Citation.

The compact Nova had a minor comeback from 1985-1988 where it more closely resembled the compact cars of today. This version was modeled after the Toyota Sprinter and was not the dragster Nova lovers recalled.

If you’re looking for a muscle car to build on and tinker with the early Novas should be heavily considered. Novas are readily available in a variety of conditions and will surely satisfy all your muscle or classic car desires.

Here are 3 Burnout videos

The Chevrolet Chevelle is a mid-sized muscle car that was produced from 1964-1977. The Chevelle was one of General Motor’s most popular cars (among others like the Pontiac GTO) ever produced and continues to hold the hearts of muscle and classic car enthusiasts. There’s no mistaking a Chevelle when it shimmers down the strip. Due to the large numbers that were produced, owning a Chevrolet Chevelle is feasible.

The first generation of the Chevrolet Chevelle spanned 1964-1972. Chevelles could come in just about any body type anyone could need including; 2-door hardtop, coupe, convertible, sedan, wagon and 4-door sedan, hardtop and wagon. The Malibu was the best trim package offered. A whopping 370,834 Chevelles were sold in 1964 alone.

Once the hopeful Chevelle owner chose the body they wanted; they then had to contend with the vast engine options. Inline six engines could be had with 194, 230 and 250 CID. Small blocks, not a problem with the Chevelle and with choices: 283, 307, 327, 350 and 400 CID. For the big block fans out there, you could have: 396, 402, 427 and 454 CID.

The Chevelle SS is what really gets muscle car lovers’ pulse up. In 1965 the Chevelle Z-16 went 0-60 in 6 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.66 seconds. There were 72,500 Chevelle SS sold in 1965 with 378,618 for all Chevelle models.

The styling changed slightly throughout the first generation, but performance was steadily increasing and sales held strong. In 1966, 72,272 SS (447,364 total) were sold; 0-60 in 6 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.4 seconds. Performance declined slightly in 1967, but handling, safety and visibility improved. An estimated 400,000 Chevelles were produced with 63,006 of those being an SS. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 15.3 seconds.

1968 saw the most styling changes of the first generation with the Chevelle adopting the popular fastback look. About 465,000 Chevelles were sold this year and 62,785 were an SS. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.5 seconds. 1969 saw an increase in sales and performance. Just over 500,000 new Chevelles hit the road in ’69 with 86,307 SS. 0-60 in 5.1 seconds and quarter mile in 13.3 seconds.

In 1970 total Chevelle sales skyrocketed at 588,021, but the SS dipped to 53,599. Times also dipped for the SS in 1070; 0-60 in 6.1 seconds and quarter mile in 13.7 seconds. Total sales of the Chevelle dropped dramatically in 1971 to 368,763 only 19,992 SS. 0-60 in 6 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.35 seconds. 1972 was the last of the first generation Chevelle and SS sales were sorry at 5,333 (414,967 total).

The last generation of the Chevrolet Chevelle spanned 1973-1977. These are the least popular of the Chevelles and mark a serious decline in America’s love for muscle cars. Every muscle car of the time including the Oldsmobile 4-4-2, Ford Mustang, GTO and Nova lost their grip on the market. Though, these last years for the Chevelle SS were particularly popular on the NASCAR circuit. When you’re ready for that classic everyone remembers, think of the Chevrolet Chevelle.

The Hemi Cuda ( my classic car someday ) was was proclaimed as one of the most powerful machines of the muscle car era. Standard on the Hemi Cuda was a shaker fully functional air scoop. Sheathed in the aerodynamic Plymouth® Barracuda body, and powered by the famous Mopar® 426 Hemi, the Hemi Cuda was one of the most potent “pony” cars ever built.( I always wanted to be able to say a Hemi Cuda was my classic car but as of yet I can’t say that).

Plymouth Baracuda was a two-door compact/midsize car manufactured by the Plymouth division of the Chrysler Corporation from 1964 through 1974. Convertible production numbers approach those of some classic European sports cars, with 14 droptop Hemi ’Cudas built in 1970 and only seven in 1971. Back then it was the greatest expression of Muscle Car Detroit ever built. Out of all the body styles in which it was available from 1966-71, it was in the big-engine-in-a-small-car E-Bodies that the 426 was put to its best use. These classic long-hood, short-deck pony cars were turned into monster street machines when fitted with the Hemi V8, and today their popularity among collectors has driven prices into orbit. Next to Hemi, for the 1970 Barracuda were offered: the 440 Magnum (375 hp with a single four-barrel carb), and the Hemi-challenging 440 Six Pack, with three two-barrel carburetors (390 gross hp and a stunning 480 lb-ft of torque at a very low 2,300 rpm). Today the rarity of these cars with Hemi engines and collector interest in them has commanded incredible price appreciation with private sales reportedly occurring at over a million dollars.

The model last only until the 1971 model, in both coupe and convertible versions. The relatively high cost of the Hemi engine option, nearly a third of the base model cost, meant low production numbers. An interesting way to visually tell the difference in all 3 years were the side marker lights: the 1967 Barracuda had no side marker lights at all, the 1968 model had small circular ones and the 1969 model had much larger rectangular ones.

It also had a Dodge twin known as the Challenger; however, not one exterior body panel interchanged between the two cars. But like other pony cars of the time, these years showed a major decrease in the Barracuda’s power due to stricter emission laws. Today the rarity of these cars with Hemi engines and collector interest in them has commanded incredible price appreciation with private sales reportedly occurring at over a million dollars.

Hemi ’Cuda production was limited: 652 coupes were built in 1970, dropping to just 108 in 1971. Hemi-powered Mopars weren’t revered works of art selling for hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of dollars, as they are today. Hemi Cuda the car is fast, flashy, sexual, with a helluva pickup and an exhaust kick that assaults the senses like a shotgun blast.

The 1970 Baracuda was built on a new, slightly shorter, wider, and sportier version of Chrysler’s existing B platform, the E-body. The HemiCuda had about a factory rating of 6 MPG, and was sold without warranty. The list of options made available for 1970 ’Cuda included: rallye wheels, a range of exciting colors sich as Plum Crazy, pistol grip shifters, hockey stick sport stripes, hood pins and a variety of creature comforts. The aggressive sound of Hemi combined with visual street cred and Barrett-Jackson publicity now make these Cudas more expensive than most Ferraris produced in the same era.

All good things come to an end, and the Hemi Cuda was certainly a Good Thing while it lasted. The Hemi Cuda was, bar none, the fastest freakin’ production street legal machine I ever saw. Who knows some day you will be able to say this is My Classic Car.

The AMC Javelin may arguably one of the most under estimated muscle cars ever built in the pony car style during the 1960s and early 1970s. It offered a well-defined fastback or pony car style and was meant to compete with the Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro and Plymouth Barracuda.

The Javelin was reveal in 1968, to mixed emotions. Some people liked the big engine in a small car. Others quetch about the plain interior. You could get a Javelin in a 3.5 L straight 6 or three optional V8s. During this 1st year a 2-seater was also available, called the AMX.

In 1969-70 bright, and often neon, colors were applied to the car, with the only noteworthy change being a new motor being offered for the Javelin, the 6.4L AMX 390.

In 1971 some restyling of the Javelin, most notably, larger fenders to accommodate racing tires. An oddity in the Javelin is the interior buttons did not match; each oddity or button looked different from the others. Other muscle cars of the day, like the GTO, Mustang, Camaro and Barracuda were matching. The Javelin won three Trans AM racing titles. In 1971 a street Javelin ran the quarter mile in 14.6 seconds.

1972-73 saw a new focus on the interior which included rich colors and a variety of patterns. During this time AMC was the 1st to offer a one year or 12,000 mile warranty. They would fix anything wrong with your AMC and provide a loaner car for lengthy repairs. 4,152 Javelins were produced with the shiny new interior and a first-of-its-kind warranty.

1974 was the last year for the AMC Javelin. Fuel-guzzling muscle cars

were no longer in demand. AMC, along with, Ford, Chevy and Chrysler let the muscle car go in favor of smaller more economical cars. The Javelin was replaced with the AMC Pacer.

The AMC Javelin was a new face in a sea of familiarity. Driving one down the road turned heads with its flashy colors and styling. Love it or hate it, the Javelin is a muscle car worth considering.

The Chevrolet Corvette was Chevy first sports car and is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Bowling Green is also the home of The Annual National Corvette Homecoming and The National Corvette Museum. The Corvette also has been manufactured in St. Louis Missouri and Flit Michigan. Harley Earl confessed General Motors that they needed a sports car in the two seater Corvette was it. Earl and his crew started working on the design for the Corvette, which was codenamed ” Opel”. The 1953 Corvette was unveiled in 1953 at the Motorama car show.

The Chevrolet Corvette took its name from the Navy ship called a frigate which was a very maneuverable fighting ship. The credit for the name Corvette is attributed to Myron Scott. The first Chevy Corvettes were hand built at the Flint Michigan customer delivery center. The fiberglass body of which the Corvette was made may have had more to do with the still quotas after the war then the weight of the new material. This new revolutionary material was used to cover mostly standard Chevrolet components like the two speed power glide transmission, “Blue Flame” inline six-cylinder truck motor, and standard card drum brakes. The triple carburetor intake added some power to the six banger but was still considered by most to be underpowered. A standard transmission and better brakes would have been welcome by most critics at the time.

Sales of the Corvette were on the decline in 1954 even after addition of the Paxton Supercharger and the Corvette would probably have been discontinued in 1955 if not for the addition of the Chevrolet’s first V8 265 CID since 1919. The second reason was an idea of Zora Arkus-Duntov from GM’s Engineering department. His idea of adding a three speed Manual transmission was quite possibly the most important change in the Chevrolet Corvettes history. There was a third possible reason for the cars survival and that was the Ford thunderbird. The Chevy-Ford rivalry was so strong at the time that Chevy may not have wanted to be seen as backing down from a challenge.

The Corvette was limited to 300 units produced for the 1953 production year. This was mainly due to the Corvettes being and built. From the years 1953 to 1962 if the car was known by many as these “solid axle” Corvette. The 1955 Corvette had few exterior changes but now there was a large V in the Corvette emblem, signifying V-8 engine.

The Chevrolet Corvette received a new day design body in 1956. Chevrolet left the country club look behind and took on the new hot rod look. The Mercedes Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” roadster had been using fuel injection for two years and now so did the Corvette. (Chevy also made it available on the Chevrolet Bel-Air). The addition of fuel injection brought the horsepower up to 290 horsepower on the 283 cubic inch engine but Chevy advertised 283 horsepower ” one horsepower per cubic inch”.There were a options on this new Corvette like heavy duty suspension and brakes, power windows, hydraulic convertible top, and a four speed Manual transmission.

The 1958 th Chevrolet Corvette was probably the flashiest Corvette ever built. The changes consisted of additions of chrome, quad headlights, twin trunk spurs, hood louvers, and exhaust that exited through the bumper. In the 1959 and 1960 Corvette the horsepower was increased and the chrome was thinned out but little changes otherwise. In 1961 the ‘boat tail” lights were added to the rear of the car, the first Corvette to have four taillights. In 1962 the fastest of the sea one corvettes was made by going to a 327 CID from the 289 CID engine. This change brought the horsepower rating up to about 360 horsepower. This model also saw another decrease in chrome.

The Corvette split-window coupe introduced the Corvette Stingray in the first Corvette to have an independent rear suspension and non functioning hood vents. Due to safety concerns the split-window was discontinued the next year along with the hood vents. The horsepower rating was up to 360 horsepower and the following year and reached 375 horsepower. The Vette was fitted with a four wheel disc brakes in 1965 along with a big block 396 cubic inch motor. In 1965, 1967 and 1969 side exhaust pipes were optional. In 1966 and even larger power plant was introduced, the 427 CID which would be one of the most collectible Corvettes ever. Then in 1967 the L-88, 427 CID was introduced with a rating of 430 HP. Unofficially there have been estimates of 550 HP and rumors of slightly higher numbers. Only 20 L-88 versions of the 427 were placed in the Corvette.

Corvette generation number three started in 1968 with an unintended introduction to the public. This introduction was through the Hot Wheels ” Custom Corvette” Die-Cast toy car. The third generation corvette was patterned after Chevy’s ” Mako Shark II”. The 350 CID motor was added to the available engine options for the Vette and in 1970 the 427 big block was raised to 454 CID. 1970 and 1971 so the peak in power ratings for the car with numbers like, 1970 LT-1 370 horsepower, 1971 454 425 horsepower. In 1972 GM went to the SAE net measurement, leaving the SAE gross measurement behind. This resulted in lower values on the horsepower ratings.

Corvette had a bad start for 1983, production problems led to the delay in only 44 prototypes were completed. 43 of the 44 cars were crushed and the remaining car number 23 is on display in Bowling Green. This meant that the fourth generation Corvette did not start until 1984. The L83 engine was used on the 1984 model with a unique fuel injection system named ” Crossfire”. The new C4 Corvette incorporated the first major changes in body and suspension since 1963. These major changes included in the C4 Coupe word new brakes with aluminum calipers, aluminum frame and suspension, rear glass hatch and a one piece targa top. The redesign of the Corvette C4 emphasized the handling characteristics with transverse composite leave springs on the front.

In 1988 the Corvette saw its 35th Anniversary Edition with each having a special ID number badge beside the gear selector. The 35th anniversary edition cars were too easy to identify by the white steering wheel, white seats, white wheels, and a white trim ect.

The 1992 Corvette model year brought the 300 HP LT1 engine. Another so-called improvement was the Accelerator Slip Regulation (ASR) which is utilized for traction to control rear wheel spin. Luckily GM saw fit to install a switch to override this control.

The C5 Corvette begin production in 1997 and was a major change from the C4. The C5 Trans was shifted to the rear to form an integrated rear-mounted transaxle assembly which was attached to the motor via driveshaft. The automotive press judge the C5 as improved in almost every aspect over the earlier Corvette designs. The new Vette also got a new small block of completely new design and rated at 345 Hp.

The Corvette Z06 was released in 2001 and replaced the FRC hardtop of 1999 through 2000 as the highest performing C5 Corvette. They use the LS6 engine which was a high to output version of the LS1 and produced 385 HP. Other modifications were made to the ZO6 including larger wheels and tires, improved gearing, new six speed Manual transmission, upgraded suspension, brake cooling ducts, lighter battery and thinner glass. The ZO6 produced 405 HP from 2002 onward thanks to some engine modifications. Dyno tests have shown that Chevrolet under raided the engine by as much as 20 Hp. The Corvette’s released for the 2003 model year were released with silver 50th anniversary badges and in updated headliner. The 2003 Corvette also had its aluminum shift for replaced with a steel fork and.

Chevy claims that the 405 HP version of the ZO6 Vette can make 1/4 mile pass in 12.4 seconds. The cars record is 11.7 with an experienced driver behind the wheel. The top speed was achieved in fifth gear at 6500 RPM and was 176 miles per hour. The Corvette is not capable of holding its own on a road track with cars like the Ford Mustang Cobra R, Porsche 911 turbo and the Dodge Viper.: The Chevrolet Corvette was Chevy first sports car and is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

His idea of adding a three speed Manual transmission was quite possibly the most important change in the Corvettes history.

The corvette split-window coupe introduced the Corvette Stingray in the first Corvette to have an independent rear suspension and nonfunctioning hood vents.

The Corvette is not capable of holding its own on a road track with cars like the Ford Mustang Cobra R, Porsche 911 turbo and the Dodge Viper

The Dodge Dart was a smaller yet still full-sized passenger car built by the Chrysler Corporation Dodge Dart between 1960 and 1976. The Dart was introduced as an affordable car to compete with the Plymouth Valiant and other smaller cars of the time. It’s the performance packages for the Dart that gets the adrenaline junkie’s blood pressure up. The Demon, Swinger, Sport and GTS models are true muscle cars.

The first Dodge Dart performance package was offered in 1963, though Dodge somehow missed the importance of a V8. The Dodge Dart GT was offered with a 170 I6 and 225 I6 with 34,227 sold this first year. Styling was simple with few frills in an effort to keep the Dart affordable.

In 1964 Dodge jumped on the band wagon and offered a V8 for the little Dart GT. The first 273 V8 did 0-60 in 10 seconds and 12,170 of the Dart GT with a V8 were sold. 1965 saw some styling and performance improvements with the 273 V8 going 0-60 in 8.2 seconds. In 1966 introduced a squarer look and 30,000 Dodge Dart GTs were sold. 1967 saw more restyling and the introduction of the GTS and Swinger models late in the production year.

1968 was a big year for the spunky Dart when the GTS rolled out to compete with the Chevy Nova SS. There are some rare engine options for this year 8,745 GTS models were sold, 68 400s and 80 with a Hemi. The 440 ran the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds and did 0-60 in 5 seconds. This made the Dodge Dart a real competitor on the drag strip.

In 1969 the Dart received yet another facelift allowing it to look like a real bad boy. The Swinger package was much more popular this year than the GTS selling 20,000 and 6,702 respectively.

Watch out for the Demon. The Dodge Demon burst onto the Dart roster in 1971. Just one glance at this beast and you can tell it’s a blast to drive. Religious groups didn’t approve of the devil decals or the name in general, but 10,098 Demon 340s were sold this year. Despite the hubbub over a name the Demon continued in 1972 selling 8,700.

In 1973 Dodge caved and renamed the Demon the Dodge Dart Sport, selling 11,315 after the renaming. In 1974 the 340 was replaced with a 360 V8 to keep up with improving emissions standards. 38,394 performance package Darts were sold in 1974. Sales dipped in 1975 to 15,702 due to performance reductions to meet ever toughening emissions requirements. 1976 was the last year for the Dodge Dart Sport.

Even though the Dodge Dart ended for the United States in 1976 production did continue in other countries until 1988. If you’re looking for a muscle car that has guts, more than 2 seats and doesn’t feel like a boat lumbering down the street, consider a Dodge Dart, you won’t be sorry.
